What are cut resistant gloves ? 


The so-called cut resistant gloves refer to "gloves with protective function against cutting risks", which are difficult to be cut and can effectively protect hands from being cut by knives and other sharp items. They are not "gloves that are completely anti-cutting, still less can't be cut or cut badly".

Commonly used cutting resistant materials


1. Aramid : Aromatic (hereinafter referred to as aramid) based on aromatic polyamide fiber as raw materials via polycondensation synthetic fiber spinning system, with high strength, high modulus and high temperature resistant, acid and alkali resistance, light weight, excellent properties, such as 5 ~ 6 times that of steel wire on its strength, modulus of steel wire or fiber glass 2 ~ 3 times, toughness is 2 times of wire, and weight is only about 1/5 of the steel wire, At 560 degrees, it doesn't disintegrate, it doesn't melt. It has good insulation and aging resistance, and has a long life cycle. Therefore, it is more suitable for high temperature workers, such as: metal smelting, industrial welding, glass processing, etc., . In the United States, Britain, Russia and other countries, military police body armor, bulletproof helmet and other protective equipment are largely use aramid fiber.

2, Ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene(UHMWPE): high strength, high modulus, strength is more than 10 times of the same section of steel wire, modulus is second only to super carbon fiber. Fiber density is low, the density is 0.97g/cm³ can float on water. It has low elongation at break and strong energy absorption capacity, so it has outstanding impact resistance and cutting resistance. It is mainly used for safety protection, aerospace, cable and cable enhancement, special rope, heavy industry manufacturing (automobile, aircraft, high-speed rail, ship) and so on.

3, Stainless steel wire: (1) by the independent welding ring interlock into steel mesh to form protection, this kind of pure steel glove cutting ability is the highest, can prevent the knife file gun, but compared with other material is heavier, and easy to conduct electricity, more suitable for the blade against human operation, such as food processing industry. (2) stainless steel superfine wire(as below picture), it can be thinner than hair, with the characteristics of fine and soft. 4, Glass fiber: glass fiber is a kind of inorganic non-metallic materials with excellent performance, the advantages are good insulation, strong heat resistance, good corrosion resistance, high mechanical strength, but the disadvantage is brittle, poor wear resistance. The diameter of its monofilament is several microns to more than 20 microns, equivalent to 1/20-1/5 of a hair filament, each bundle of fibrils is composed of hundreds or even thousands of monofilaments. Glass fibers are commonly used as reinforcement materials in composite materials, electrical insulation materials and thermal insulation materials, and can be used in the coating or core-spun yarn to make the yarn cut resistant.
