Aramid fiber, known as "aromatic polyamide fiber". There are two main types of aramid fibers, para aramid and meta aramid .


Para Aramid, which is golden yellow and looks like shiny wire, is actually a liquid crystal polymer made of long rigid molecules. Because its molecular chains are highly oriented along the length direction, and has a strong interchain binding force, thus endowing fibers with unprecedented high strength, high modulus and high temperature resistance characteristics.  Para Aramid has a very high strength, greater than 28 g/denier, is the quality of steel 5 ~ 6 times, the modulus is steel or glass fiber 2 ~ 3 times, toughness is 2 times of steel, and the weight is only 1/5 of steel. The continuous use of para aramid temperature range is extremely wide, in the range of -196℃ to 204℃ can be long-term normal operation. At 150℃ shrinkage rate is 0, at 560℃ high temperature does not decompose does not melt, heat resistance is better than meta aramid, and has good insulation and corrosion resistance.



Meta Aramid, which is a soft, white, thin, fluffy, shiny fiber, the appearance of ordinary chemical fiber is not different. Meta Aramid most outstanding characteristic is high temperature resistant performance is good, can use for a long time without aging at 220 ℃ high temperature, the electrical performance and mechanical performance can maintain 10 years, the effectiveness of and excellent dimensional stability, at about 250 ℃ heat shrinkage rate of only 1%, a short period of time will not shrink from 300 ℃ high temperature exposure, embrittlement, to soften or melt,  Only in the strong temperature above 370℃ began to decompose, 400℃ or so began carbonization, such high thermal stability in the current organic temperature resistant fiber is unique.
